Steeped & Formed
A two-part experience where clay meets tea.
In this collaborative workshop, you'll spend time with two skilled guides: Edward Qu, a Tea Sommelier and Oenologist, and Robert Luo, Bélisle Pottery’s Studio Technician and sommelier. Together, they’ll lead you through a thoughtful pairing of ceramic making and tea tasting.
Part One
Start with a guided tea session led by Edward, followed by a pinch pot workshop where you’ll shape four teacups (with foot rings) under the direction of Robert and the Bélisle team. Your pieces will be glazed and fired by the studio.
Part Two
Return a few weeks later to explore a comparative tasting of oolong and black teas—this time using the teacups you crafted. Led by Edward, this tasting dives into technique, terroir, and tradition, giving new meaning to the phrase “made by hand.”
