The Art of Sgraffito

Join us at Bélisle Pottery for a focused exploration of surface illustration on clay, led by ceramic artist Natalee Nelson of Cabin Fever Clay Works.

Sgraffito is the art of carving through layers of slip or underglaze to reveal contrast beneath the surface. It is thoughtful, graphic, and incredibly satisfying.

These 2.5-hour workshops invite you to slow down and draw directly onto clay using traditional sgraffito and mishima techniques.

All materials are provided. All pieces are glazed and kiln-fired by our team.
