A pottery + music fundraiser to support Jamaican artist Nurse Signs and our local Jamaican farmworker community.

Join us for a special 3-hour wheel-throwing workshop inspired by the vibrant energy of Jamaica and the legendary hand-painted art of Nurse Signs, the island’s most iconic sign painter whose bold lines and joyful lettering have shaped the visual language of Jamaican music and dancehall culture for decades.

This event is more than a workshop. It’s a tribute. Earlier this year, Val had the chance to meet Nurse through her dear friend and mentor Dominic Allnut. His story and artistry deeply inspired her upcoming collection, her first in years.

We’ll be spinning clay, spinning records, and pouring a few delicious Jamaican drinks, all while raising funds to help Nurse Signs rebuild his paint shop and sustain his craft as the island finds its rhythm again. A portion of proceeds will also go toward supporting our local Jamaican farmworkers here in Niagara, whose hard work and presence continue to shape our community in countless ways.
